Welcome to Jun Tennis Academy, where we offer private tennis lessons in Singapore for kids, adults, beginners, and competitive players led by former elite athlete Jun.

Our coaching is built around the 3 foundations of tennis development: footwork, technique, and strategy, thats how we got 130+ medals since 2019. We believe that lasting improvement comes from strong movement, efficient stroke mechanics, and a clear understanding of how to play smarter on court.

Whether you are new to tennis or looking to take your game to the next level, our experienced coaches tailor each session to your skill level, goals, and preferred training location. With structured lessons and a supportive coaching environment, we help every student improve with confidence and enjoy the learning process.

The Difference

I founded Jun Tennis Academy after years of competing as an elite-level athlete, where I learned that the difference between "just playing" and "getting better" comes down to how you are taught from day one.
Today, I manage a team of across Singapore. While not every coach is a former pro, every single one is handpicked and trained. We don't just "feed balls"—we focus on technical correction that builds a foundation for life.

What We Focus On
We specialize in three things that actually move the needle for your game:
  • Technical Correction: We fix bad habits before they become injuries. Whether it’s your swing path or your grip, we get the mechanics right.
  • Purposeful Movement: Tennis is played with the feet first. We teach you how to move efficiently so you're always in the right position.
  • Game IQ: Even as a beginner, we teach you the why behind every shot so you can play with confidence and strategy.

Lessons for Every Level
We make high-quality coaching accessible. From kids picking up a racket for the first time to adults looking for a high-intensity workout, we match you with a coach who fits your personality and goals.
We are flexible and can meet you at your preferred court, including Kallang, Heartbeat@Bedok, etc or your private condo.

Private Tennis Lessons in Singapore | Personalized 1-on-1 Coaching

tennis lessons singapore
Fast-Track Your Progress with Focused 1-on-1 Attention

At Jun Tennis Academy, we believe that private coaching is the fastest way to master the game. Unlike large group classes where technical errors can be overlooked, our private tennis lessons provide the individualized correction needed to build a professional-standard foundation.
Whether you are an adult beginner wanting to learn the basics or a competitive junior prepping for a tournament, our sessions are designed to match your specific pace and goals.

What to Expect in a Private Session
Each 1-on-1 lesson is structured around our Framework:
  • Immediate Feedback: We catch and correct "bad habits" in real-time, preventing long-term injuries and technical plateaus.
  • Custom Drills: No generic feeding. We design drills specifically for your weaknesses—whether it's a shaky backhand or inefficient court movement.
  • Strategic Growth: We don't just hit balls; we teach you how to win points. You’ll learn the "court geometry" that pros use to dominate matches.

Coaching That Comes to You
We understand that Singapore life is busy. Our team of coaches offers flexible scheduling at your preferred location. We regularly conduct private lessons at:
  • Public Hubs: Kallang, Heartbeat@Bedok, and Yio Chu Kang etc.
  • Private Courts: We can come directly to your condo or private court anywhere in Singapore.

Group Tennis Lessons in Singapore | Social, Affordable & Effective

Learn Faster Together
Tennis is a social sport, and at Jun Tennis Academy, our group lessons are designed to make high-quality coaching both affordable and fun. Whether you're signing up with a friend or looking to join a small group of similar skill levels, our sessions focus on high-energy drills and teamwork.
We keep our group sizes small to ensure that every player still receives the technical attention they need from our professional coaches.

Why Choose Our Group Classes?
  • Dynamic Peer Learning: Watching others perform a stroke helps you visualize and correct your own movements faster.
  • Game-Based Drills: Group settings allow us to run "live ball" drills and point-play scenarios that you just can't replicate in private sessions.
  • Affordable Excellence: Get the benefit of our Methodology at a fraction of the cost of private 1-on-1 coaching.
  • Community & Camaraderie: Many of our students find long-term hitting partners through our classes, building a tennis community that extends beyond the lesson.

Programs for All Ages

Our group programs are structured to keep everyone moving:
  • Kids & Juniors: Focused on coordination, basic mechanics, and making sure the "fun" factor keeps them coming back.
  • Adult Beginners: A low-pressure environment to learn the fundamentals and start rallying.
  • Intermediate Groups: Tactical drills, doubles positioning, and consistency training.

The Jun Tennis Philosophy | Results-Driven Coaching in Singapore

tennis coach singapore
A Foundation Built on Experience

At Jun Tennis Academy, we believe that effective coaching starts with a clear methodology. Founded by a former elite-level athlete, our academy was built to bridge the gap between recreational play and technical mastery. We don't just feed balls; we provide a structured, supportive environment where every student can see visible progress.
Personalized Coaching, Professional StandardsWe manage a team of  coaches across Singapore, each handpicked for their ability to communicate effectively and teach with precision. Whether you are training one-on-one or in a group setting, our instructors prioritize an open dialogue. This allows us to tailor every session to your physical needs and set achievable goals that keep you motivated.

Why Fundamentals Matter: Technical Correction & Injury Prevention
We focus heavily on the two pillars of the game:

Technique and Footwork.
  • Safe Progression: Without mastering the correct grip and swing path, players often hit a plateau or, worse, develop chronic injuries like tennis elbow and wrist pain.
  • Stroke Correction: Our coaches specialize in technical correction, ensuring that beginners build the right habits from day one and advanced players refine their mechanics for maximum power and efficiency.

Coaching for Every Level
From the absolute beginner picking up a racket for the first time to the aspiring tournament player, our team provides the highest level of instruction in Singapore. We understand the physical and emotional demands of the sport and offer a nurturing atmosphere that fosters both athletic and personal growth.

Train at Your Convenience
Our extensive network of coaches allows us to offer flexible scheduling at your preferred location. We are active at all major ActiveSG hubs (Kallang, Heartbeat@Bedok) and available for private lessons at residential courts city-wide.

Chow Zheng Yuan

I’d do a review of his tennis lesson and methods so that you can decide if he is the tennis coach for you. I am a 3.8 all rounded tennis player who enjoys tennis singles match play. I had in mind what I needed to improve on but have little clue of what I’m doing wrong, which is why I sought him out as my tennis coach in Singapore. We started off with an evaluation session to assess my play-ability so it was mainly him observing my tennis ground strokes, serves and volley. We spent the first 3 tennis lessons working on footwork and establishing a stable form when hitting from all corners of the tennis court. By contrast most people place focus on the upper body and swing but neglect their footwork which plays an equally important part in a forehand stroke.

The next few tennis lessons were on developing a more powerful first serve,  Coach Jun was able to pick out a couple of mistakes such as insufficient forearm pronation and incorrect tennis racket take back. With these corrected I have managed to develop a much quicker but most importantly, a confident first serve. We also ran through a few tennis lessons of singles game strategy, in which we did tennis drills to increase my % of shots in, together with developing better shot selection, and when to go for winners. This has been the greatest help so far in developing consistency to win tennis matches.

Coach Jun is both friendly and patient. I highly recommend him to intermediate to advanced level tennis players anywhere between 3.0-4.5 who are looking to develop consistency, better match play strategies, and a huge serve (his trademark), he WILL pickup your mistakes and make you a better tennis player! And for those looking to pickup the wonderful sport of tennis.

Jun Lim

Tennis Coach Renato is very knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. During our tennis lessons in Singapore, he focuses on the fundamentals and tailor made drills to get them right. Coach Renato has an eye for spotting the problem with my strokes/footwork and giving precise pointers. I’m often amazed how just by making small changes to my techniques can lead to a huge difference.

Tennis lessons are well paced, fun and enjoyable. I also liked that there are step by step demonstrations of the skills, which helps learning greatly.

I was new to tennis but thanks to Coach Ren’s dedication, I have learnt and progressed a lot. Friends have commented that I made marked improvements in the short time since I started lessons with him and I can even play a game of tennis properly now. Thumbs up and highly recommended! Very Affordable tennis lessons as well!

Wayne is a patient and dedicated tennis coach who takes the time to understand my strengths and weaknesses, ensuring that every tennis class is tailored to my improvement. Coach Wayne is highly observant and thoughtful in identifying the specific areas in tennis where I struggle, providing targeted advice and tennis drills that help me refine my technique. His structured approach and keen attention to detail have significantly enhanced my overall tennis game, making me a more confident and well-rounded tennis player. I appreciate his ability to break down complex techniques into simple, actionable steps, allowing me to progress steadily with each tennis lesson.

Jun is a very experienced, dedicated, and passionate tennis coach. His tennis lessons are fun and enjoyable. At the same time he also pushes you. My tennis has improved tremendously under his tutelage. You can definitely expect quality tennis lesson from him and he’s also able to answer any question related to tennis if you might have any. For sure he is the best tennis coach if you are really considering of improving your tennis to another level. I have moved to Dubai but if you are looking for tennis lessons in Singapore, look no further.

Tennis Coach Shawn is a positive and passionate tennis coach whom exhibits focus, knowledge and skills to push you to the next level. He exhibits articulation with proper techniques specifically aligning it with the logic behind in order for you to replicate and remember during our tennis classes.

He observes your weakness and points out a tailored solution in order for you to achieve your goals effectively. Coach Shawn exhibits great patience during his coaching where he would give positive words of encouragement in motivating you to do better each time. Furthermore, he manages to keep each tennis lesson fun, even with the drills or games and were never repetitive or boring.

If you are a beginner currently looking for a tennis coach, I would highly recommend Coach Shawn! I
f you are looking for tennis lessons in Singapore for one on one or with friends, you can try Jun Tennis Academy.

Daffodil

Picked up tennis at the start of 2024. I had 0 experience in playing tennis or playing sports that would help in picking up tennis. Looked around for many coaches towards the end of 2023 before I decided on reaching out to Jun for a tennis lesson.

I picked Jun's tennis academy because based on posts and compared to many other tennis coaches, his students actually have good results. He teaches good and proper form (even for serves as well), does lots of drills. To be honest, sometimes training is damn shag but LOL, you will definitely improve under Jun! Highly recommend if you're looking to seriously pick up tennis and have good form.

Also another pro is: Coach is always on time for class, your time slot is reserved weekly and there's hardly any last minute cancellations from him. He will let you know in advance if he's overseas. When he's not in town, you have the option of having classes with any coach trained by him. So rest assured, you've got a responsible coach!

Disclaimer: Jun can be very straight to the point (but he's also quite easy to talk to and chill if you are). Another disclaimer is if you're there to just "play play", then he's not the coach for you 🙂 other than that, I 10/10 recommend!!

Looking to brush up on my tennis skills after a 20-year hiatus, I sought out Tennis Coach Agnes for help with my forehand. Her expertise was evident as she quickly pinpointed my issues - not hitting through the ball and leaning back, leading to inconsistent shots. In just one class, Coach Agnes worked her magic, significantly improving my forehand technique. Beyond her skill, Coach Agnes's genuine passion for tennis and dedication to her students are remarkable. I highly recommend Agnes for anyone seeking coaching to enhance their game. Additionally, Jun Tennis Academy provided prompt and friendly assistance when I reached out for a trainer to refine my groundstrokes. For top-notch tennis lessons in Singapore, look no further!

Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose a tennis coach in Singapore

The tennis coach must know the proper technique, footwork, serve etc.
Your tennis coach should not be hitting in a funny or incorrect way or teach you strange things, for example " serving with the wrong grip, strokes have no follow through or take back, elbow touching the body when hitting ground strokes" etc.
Your tennis coach should also have a time tested coaching method to help you achieve your tennis goals during the tennis class.

Also, when you’re trying to find the right tennis coach for beginners, it’s vital to ensure that the tennis lessons are both effective and enjoyable. Here at Jun Tennis Academy, our tennis coaching in Singapore focuses on building confidence for those new to tennis. We understand that learning tennis from the ground up can be challenging, but with our beginner-friendly tennis lessons and classes, we make the process smooth and rewarding. Our tennis coaches specialize in delivering personalized tennis lesson plans tailored to each student's needs, guaranteeing steady progress. Our flexible, beginner-focused coaching sessions will help you transition from a novice to someone who plays with confidence and enthusiasm, all while having fun on the court!

Where to buy tennis shoes in Singapore

I recommend buying your tennis shoes online on nike or adidas websites if you can find good prices. Last resort would be Queensway Shopping Centre or Tennis hub at coronation plaza. You should try to go to all the floors (1st to 3rd floor) and compare the best prices for the tennis shoe you want. You can also try to find a good deal for tennis shoes at outlet malls such as IMM and Changi City Point if you are lucky.

Is it okay if I do not have a tennis racket for the tennis lesson?

Our tennis coaches are able to provide a tennis racket for you, however we would suggest that you get your own tennis racket. You may ask the tennis coach for advice on choosing a tennis racket suitable for you as you will want to get used to your racket during your tennis lesson!

Do I need tennis shoes for the tennis lesson?

Yes, you do! In fact, I recommend you buy a tennis shoe before you start. Tennis shoes are more stable compared to other shoes. They are tougher on the sides so you can change direction as you hit easily. If you use other type of shoes, your feet will start to shift out of position and you will not be able to push off properly during your tennis lesson. However, if you are only planning to try tennis out for a short while, then wearing your sport shoes is good enough!

Do I need to bring an energy drink for the tennis lesson?

Maybe. It depends on your personal fitness level as well as how hot or dehydrating it might be on the day of the tennis class.

Are there any forfeits if I cancel my tennis lesson?

Yes but it depends on your situation, check out the cancellation policies for both package and non-package tennis lessons on our lesson page or right below this page for more information! You may ask your tennis coach or our admin for more details before the tennis lesson.

Are we a tennis academy in Singapore?

No, a real tennis academy is a place for tennis athletes to train full time. Tennis academies would typically provide accommodation for tennis athletes to stay there as well. We wouldn't call the tennis academies in Singapore full-fledged tennis academies as they do not have accommodations and proper facilities for tennis athletes to stay in and train.

Where can I find tennis players to play with in Singapore?

You can download an app called Rovo on your mobile device and create or join tennis sessions that other tennis players host. There are players of all levels there. There are also tennis Facebook groups and other sport gathering apps you may use.

Can you help my child get into a tennis school in Singapore via DSA

Our professional and competitive tennis coaches can train your child till he/she reaches the appropriate competitive level to compete with various tennis players of the same age or higher. However, personal discipline and hard work are also important qualities that they must possess while learning tennis.

Where is the best place to buy tennis rackets in Singapore

Queensway offers a range of tennis shops that sells different brands of tennis rackets. However, you can also try places like lucky plaza, coronation plaza and other tennis specific shops like tennis hub. Buying from places like Royal Sporting House or World of Sports is a big no-no as the tennis rackets are overpriced there and they only carry some tennis racket brands unless they have their 50% off discount! We strongly advise that you check with our tennis coaches who know about tennis rackets first before you purchase a tennis racket for yourself. We do not want you to waste money buying a cheap or expensive but unusable tennis racket. Decathlon also sells 2-3 good tennis rackets that you can get at a super affordable price, the rest of their tennis rackets are not good.

Where can I buy tennis balls in Singapore?

You can buy them at Queensway and/or tennis specific shops in Singapore. These tennis shops offers a variety of brands of tennis balls to choose from such as Dunlop (AO), Wilson (US Open), Slazenger (Wimbledon), HEAD and many more. Can your tennis coaches coach at clubs in Singapore

It depends on whether your Country Club allows external tennis coaches to coach tennis there. You may try to apply for special permission for your tennis lesson but will most likely be denied. Most Country Clubs in Singapore do not allow external tennis coaches as they have their own set of resident club tennis coaches available. Some Clubs do not allow basket of tennis balls to be brought in as well.

Do take note: SAFRA country club as well as Civil Service Club do not allow tennis coaching but many people do go there with their own private tennis coach as it is not as strict at times. Tennis students need to ask for permission to bring their own tennis coaches in for coaching beforehand and tennis court booking rates are slightly expensive than usual.

However there are many people who break the rules as they are not as strict, and if you coach tennis there during peak timings, there will be other tennis players or tennis coaches that might send a complaint to the management.

What are the types of tennis courts in Singapore

There are 4 main surfaces for tennis courts that consist of clay, carpet, grass and hard courts. They all impact the tennis player on how the game is played. Tennis players will often have a court they prefer and play well on. In Singapore, other than just the many hard tennis courts you see everywhere, there are actually clay and grass tennis courts around, as well as other artificial surfaces. It is quite fun to try out all the different tennis courts in Singapore and see which one you like playing tennis on.

Can we take group tennis lessons together if we are of different levels

Yes! We welcome all who want to train together with their friends, however, note that the higher level tennis player will improve at a slower pace until the beginner has caught up to a level that is sufficient to do similar tennis drills together.

Is tennis training expensive

Tennis is a very hard sport to properly master and you definitely will have to spend a significant amount of not only money but time. There are many factors to help you reduce the costs. Choosing a tennis coach wisely will help you save a lot of money as you would not need to relearn proper tennis techniques if you start with a good tennis coach. Having good ball sense, being a fast learner, and putting in time to practice outside of tennis lessons will help you as well. This are just a few factors that can help you save money. We are also one of the most affordable tennis academies in singapore!

It depends on if one is trying to learn to play tennis casually or competitively or in between. Once a week is good enough if you are just aiming to be a good casual tennis player, however you have to supplement the tennis lessons with your own practice outside of tennis lessons.

Is it worth getting tennis lessons?

Absolutely! Whether you’re a complete beginner or already playing at an intermediate level, tennis lessons can help you improve much faster than learning on your own. A tennis coach can correct bad habits before they stick, teach proper technique, and guide you through structured drills that build consistency, footwork, and confidence.
In Singapore, many tennis players struggle with finding the right training routine due to limited court time or busy schedules. Having tennis lessons ensures that every session is purposeful—you’ll know exactly what to work on and why. Plus, lessons make tennis more fun because you see real progress week after week.
Think of it this way: investing in tennis lessons saves you months (or even years) of trial and error, reduces the risk of injury, and helps you enjoy tennis at a higher level. Whether your goal is to rally smoothly, compete in friendly matches, or simply get a great workout, tennis lessons are 100% worth it.

At what age should you start tennis lessons?

It depends on your tennis goals.
  • For competitive tennis players: Many top tennis players start young, often around 5–7 years old. At this age, kids can pick up proper technique, movement, and coordination through fun drills and games. If your child is aiming for competitive tennis, starting early gives them more time to develop strong fundamentals and adapt to match play.
  • For casual tennis players: There’s no “too late” age to enjoy tennis. Many adults pick up the sport in their 20s, 30s, or even later and still improve quickly. Tennis is a lifetime sport—you can enjoy the fitness benefits, social aspect, and stress relief at any age.
What matters most is having the right guidance and a positive learning environment. Whether you’re starting tennis young for competition or later in life for fun, tennis is always worth picking up.

Is one tennis lesson a week enough?

It depends on whether you’re learning casually or training competitively.
  • For casual tennis players: One tennis lesson a week is a great way to build skills steadily while keeping tennis fun and flexible. If you also practice a bit on your own—such as rallying with friends or using a tennis ball machine—you’ll see consistent progress without feeling overwhelmed.
  • For competitive tennis players: Usually, one tennis lesson a week is not enough. To compete at tennis seriously, tennis players benefit from 2–6 lessons per week combined with physical training, tennis match play, and self-practice. The extra court time allows them to refine technique, improve fitness, and gain match experience more quickly.
In short: once a week works well for casual tennis learners, but competitive tennis players need more frequent tennis classes to reach their full potential.
